Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant has been firing up authentic brick-ovens since 1981, when founder Joey Crugnale opened the first location in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts. That glowing hearth became the heart of every dining room, turning simple dough, tangy tomato sauce, and creamy mozzarella into a signature pizza with a crisp, slightly smoky crust. As word spread, additional restaurants appeared across New England and the Mid-Atlantic, each built around a custom brick-oven so guests could see and smell their meals roasting in real time.

Over the decades Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant has stayed true to its roots. Our chefs still proof dough in-house, hand-roll meatballs daily, and bake the famous rolls that arrive at your table steaming hot. Community partnerships, such as school fundraising nights and local team sponsorships, reflect the neighborly spirit that shaped the brand from day one.
